This week, at the Little School, we started a series of lessons on the sin of lying.
Yes, in a culture that allows and normalizes everything, and so used to lying, even Christians come to forget that this practice is a sin in the eyes of God, which is something we must fight against and seek to eradicate from our lives.
We saw that a lie is intended to deliberately deceive by hiding or perverting the truth.
We do not live to adapt to culture or please everyone. We must live to please God and fulfill His will.
We understood that everything that opposes the truth is bad; the opposite of truth is the lie, which is a characteristic of the devil and should never define a true child of God.
John 8:44 KJVAE
[44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
God wants us to be honest and always tell the truth, and although culture may allow us to lie in certain contexts, we saw that God does not; His command is very clear when He commands us NOT TO LIE.
So it was instructed to kill this sin because this is God’s will for His children and, in turn, to practice the truth, as this makes us trustworthy people before others.
Let’s continue praying for children all over the world and, especially, for the salvation of the children of this people.
